course types

Angelfish 1
Suitable for pre-school age non-swimmers of 4 years without a parent in the water.

Angelfish 2
Suitable for school age children unable to swim without aids but able to paddle with arms and legs.

Angelfish 3
Suitable for school age children able to paddle 2-3 metres without aids.  To further develop kicking action on front and back.

Blue Fish 1
Suitable for school age children able to paddle/travel 5 metres without aids using both legs and arms.  This class aims to further develop rotation, floatation and stroke kicking and pulling actions and experiementing with travelling techniques.  To also develop the basic skills of submersion and water breathing.

Blue Fish 2
Suitable for school age children who can travel 5 metres using all kick actions only on both front and back.  This class concentrates on developing the breathing and combined kicking and pulling actions for all strokes.

Catfish 1
Suitable for children who can consistently swim 5 metres on their front or back.  To further develop competent kicks on frontcrawl, backcrawl and breaststroke.  To combine arm actions with the kciks and to introduce swimming underwater.

Catfish 2
For children who can swim 10 metres on front and back (inc.breaststroke leg action). To consolidate the kicking actions for frontcrawl, backcrawl and breastroke and to develop butterfly kicking.  To further develop the basic strokes and to experiment with butterfly full stroke.

Dog Fish 1
For children that can consistently swim 10 metres frontcrawl, backcrawl and breaststroke showing breathing.  To develop streamlining with swimming strokes and the full stroke for frontcrawl, backcrawl.

Dog Fish 2
For children able to consistently swim 25 metres full stroke frontcrawl, backcrawl and breaststroke showing basic technique and able to demonstrate a front somersault.  Children will work to consoldate the basic technique in all strokes over increasing distances.  Water practices are also introduced for diving and hand touch turns. 

Emperor Fish
In this class, children must be able to swim a continuous 50m on each of two strokes and 25m on each of the other two strokes, must show efficient technique throughout.  Children have to complete butterfly turn and hand touch turn for backcrawl and breaststroke.  The emphasis is more efficient swimming and skills continue to increase in difficulty.

Flying Fish
This class requires children to complete a 10 minutes swim using two different competitive strokes.  Also must swim 4 x 50m frontcrawl with efficient technieque with stroke and pace, added to this children must be able to swim 50m on any stroke.

Swimming lessons may use lane space from 3.30pm-6.30pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings from 8.30am-11.30am.
